A WINNING POWERBALL TICKET FOR $754.6 MILLION, THE NINTH-LARGEST PRIZE IN US HISTORY, WAS PURCHASED IN WASHINGTON STATE.

One ticket purchased in the state of Washington matched all six numbers in the Powerball drawing on Monday night, breaking a streak of months without a winner.

According to officials, the Powerball jackpot increased to an estimated $754.6 million on Monday, making it the fifth-largest in the game’s history and the ninth-largest lottery prize in American history.

Since the jackpot was last won on November 19, it has continued to increase. According to Powerball, Monday’s drawing for the current jackpot was the 34th.

If the big prize winner selected the annuity option, which would be paid out progressively over 29 years, they would get $747 million as their prize. Before federal and state taxes, the winner of the popular cash choice would receive $407.2 million.

Winning numbers for the Powerball: 2/6/23

In Monday night’s drawing, the winning numbers were 5, 11, 22, 23, 69, and the Powerball was 7. Power Play was two times.

How likely is it that you’ll win the Powerball?

Powerball can be fun to play, but don’t blow those millions before you win. The game’s ridiculous odds are intended to create large jackpots that attract more participants.

There are 292,201,338 to 1 chances against winning the jackpot.

What is the Powerball game?

Each Powerball play costs $2. For the white balls, players choose five numbers between 1 and 69, and for the red Powerball, they choose one number between 1 and 26.

You must match the numbers for all five white balls, plus the red Powerball, to win the jackpot.

There are eight more chances to win a Powerball prize across the game’s non-jackpot tiers in addition to the big prize, depending on the number of balls that are matched.

Tempted by the jackpot?

Prizes other than the jackpot range from $4 to $1 million. You can choose to play “Powerplay” for an additional $1, which multiplies non-jackpot winning payouts by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10.

The 10X Powerplay, according to Powerball, is only offered when the jackpot is $150 million or less. For the Powerplay, the second-tier “Match 5” reward is capped at $2 million.

In some jurisdictions, participants can purchase “Double Play,” a supplementary add-on feature that offers them a second chance to match their numbers following each Powerball drawing, for $1 per play.
