After Quake, Turkey Hit By Floods

Turkey is failing to

catch a breath from natural calamities.

the country which was struck hard by the

6th of February earthquake of magnitude

7.8 killing scores of people and

destroying several buildings. now

torrential rain has triggered flash

floods in turkey’s Southeastern

provinces. according to Media reports at

least 10 people have been killed in the

flash floods. flash floods have turned

roads into rivers, flood water carried

away cars and debris and inundated the

basements and ground floors of some

buildings.

meanwhile the country’s disaster

Management Authority has said that,

divers in boats are carrying out the

search and rescue operations for the

missing

and people trapped in the buildings.

it even said that in the last 24 hours

more than 100 millimeters per square

meter of rain had fallen into the

affected provinces.
