Norway Detains Greta Thunberg

Now in Norway environmental campaign at

Greta thunberg and dozens of other

activists are protesting against wind

farms built on indigenous land. but their

protests have been put on hold , after

they were forcibly removed by the police.

as they blocked access to the Norwegian

Ministries police started breaking up

the demonstrations.

they did so by physically carrying away

members of the group as they try to

voice their concerns over the wind farms.

Swedish climate activist Greta Sundberg

holding a red a blue and yellow

flag was seen are being carried off by

two police officers. while she was

blocking a door at the finance ministry.

they will get noticed to remove

themselves voluntarily on order from the

police . there have been indications that

they won’t do that, which means we will

have to remove them carry them to the

other side of the garden and that is all

that is going to happen here.

Greta thunberg vocal advocate for ending the world’s Reliance

on carbon-based power was later released,

along with other activists who’d also

been detained.

we want to make it very clear that it’s

it’s the Norwegian state that is

committing the real crime here for

violating human rights.

we shouldn’t have to demonstrate like

this to have our rights.

why exactly are these demonstrations

being held , the indigenous campaigners

and other activists they’re demanding

the removal of wind turbines from these

pastures , and in recent days they’ve

blocked access to several government

buildings as well . they say that a

transition to Green energy should not

come at the expense of rights after

reindeer herders said that the Sight and

Sound of giant wind Power Machinery

frighten their animals and disrupt their

age-old Traditions. they’re demanding

that the turbine should be toned down.

protesters can be seen holding the sign

that reads respect indigenous people’s

rights . the wind turbines in possum need

to go. moreover in 2021 Norway’s Supreme

Court ruled that two wind farms violated

Sami rights under International

conventions , despite this they remain in

operation more than 16 months later.

meanwhile the energy Ministry is said

that the turbines present illegal

quandary , despite the Supreme Court’s

ruling it is hoping to find a compromise.

but that it could take another year to

make a new decision in this case.
