the 2022 FIFA World Cup is officially
underway, and on day two of the
quadrennial event we have three marches
in store for us . one of them is a clash
between European heavyweight Netherlands
and African Champion Senegal .which will
be played at the altumama stadium in
Doha. Senegal are still reeling from the
blow of losing their Talisman sadio Mane.
on the eve of the tournament ,the Bayern
Munich Ford has undergone surgery and
his absence could prove to be pivotal.
the African Champions were expected to
contend for a knockout’s birth and will
now have to rely on watford’s Ismail
Asar for goals up front.
however Senegal
are known for their defensive prowess,
and with the likes of Chelsea’s Khalid
and Edward Mendy in their lineup. the
African Champions will be a tough team
to break down.
the Netherlands head into the World Cup
in excellent form under Louis van Hall’s
management .the three-time finalists
missed out on qualifying for the 2018
World Cup in Russia .but reached the
semi-finals under van Hal in 2014. the
team has undergone a remarkable
turnaround ,under the veteran manager
winning 11 and drawing four matches
since he took over in August 2021. they
have also reached the UEFA Nations
League finals for the second time in
three campaigns .the Dutch side will be
without staff forward Memphis depay up
front and Inter Milan’s Denzel danfries
is also an injury doubt for the opening
March.
we have a fantastic manager
experience.
we have players who play at on the
highest level .the biggest clubs in the
world. we have experience ,we have talent,
we have a good mixture but first and
foremost we have team spirit .and I think
that’s the start and the key to success.
it’s not guaranteed success of course,
but it’s a good way to start.
