Wildfire Rages In Cuba | Climate Change

Cuba is buckling a wildfire since 10

days, authorities are deploying nearly

every weapon in their Arsenal to contain

them but they are spreading unbaited or

unabated.

swallowed large areas and caused

extensive damage to Forest plantations

including coffee crops in the region.

Authority say that around 1 700 hectares of

land has been engulfed by the blaze it

is even threatening the nearby areas.

National Park , which occupies an area of

about more than 8000 hectares local

authorities are trying to prevent the

fire from spreading beyond the limits of

Hal gin Province, to the neighboring

province of Santiago de Cuba.

those dealing with this Wildfire say

that bringing its under control is a big

challenge.

Wildfire incidents have funded the

island since the start of the year.

the authorities have reported 80 forest

fire incidents alone in January.
