Climate Change | What Is Net Zero Emissions?

To move towards a Greener future , scores

of nations are aiming to achieve net

zero emissions . the U.S and many other

targeting 2050, with countries like India

and China targeting it decades later . but

do you know that, there are a handful of

carbon sink countries that have their

emissions already in check.

on your screens you can see the eight

countries that have achieved this feat.

they are Bhutan,

comoros ,

Gabon, Guyana, Madagascar , Niue Panama and

Suriname.

so what do we mean by net zero emissions.

Net zero emissions are achieved when

more carbon dioxide is absorbed from the

atmosphere each year then it is emitted.

so reaching Net Zero on a global scale

is a central part of efforts to prevent

global warming from exceeding the 1.5

degree celsius climate Target . and if you

notice one thing that is common amongst

all of these nations is that , most of

them are small countries with limited

industrial sectors . who prioritize

ecological protection measures.

so as we move towards The Greener future.

we hope that soon in the coming days we

get to update the map , where we show

these eight countries who have achieved

net zero emissions.
